Content Management Solutions for NHS & Health

Providing a more interactive and focused web user experience is one of the key drivers for NHS Trusts and health organisations that are keen to meet their obligations and provide content that is easily accessible to all their stakeholders.

At the same time the need to deliver improved efficiency by devolving the responsibility for content to key individuals and departments is essential. In order to ensure success, the people involved need a system that is simple and intuitive to use; it must be a pleasure not a chore.
Contensis requires a very minimum of training and therefore user buy-in is assured. People soon realise that the process of content addition and editing is quick and easy and nowhere does this have greater relevance than in the health sector where everyone's time is at a premium.

While the overall goals of each project are similar, the metrics by which these initiatives are judged successful are important to highlight. These include:

  • Greater Cost efficiency
  • Rationalisation of systems and processes
  • Tighter integration of core systems
  • Operational transparency and flexibility
  • Compliance with the appropriate regulations, standards and guidelines

Key Objectives

  • Accessibility/Diversity
  • Multi-Channel
  • Online Forms Processing
  • Simplified website creation and devolved content maintenance
  • Consistency of corporate brand
  • Interactive transactional websites 24/7

Key Contensis Deliverables

  • User-friendly and intuitive: Contensis is specifically designed for non-technical users who would require little or no training. Content is completely separated from look and feel enabling users to maintain or create new web page without impacting or corrupting the look and feel of the site. Features include WYSIWYG editing and full drag and drop publishing.
  • Standards Compliance: Contensis as standard will simplify publishing of ‘AAA’ rated content and meet all the relevant standards and guidelines such as: e-GIF, IPSV, e-GMS, DPA, DDA and RNIB.
  • Multi-Channel Delivery: Contensis has XML at its core so all current and envisaged channel requirements are catered for including: Portals, websites, intranets, extranets, PDAs, digital-TV and touch-screen kiosks. Contensis has full transactional capability
  • Multi-Lingual Capability: Contensis has the facility to incorporate any language within the CMS and these are managed through synchronised workflow.
  • System Integration: Contensis is built around a .NET framework with an open API that facilitates easy and rapid integration with virtually any type of application. This can be achieved through Web Services or where necessary, XML (RSS), direct API integration and ODBC.
  • MS Office Integration: Contensis has two approaches to achieving this: Utilisation of the Contensis Office Add-in which provides a direct interface to the Contensis repository and its associated functionality; and WebDAV which provides file system access to Contensis.
  • Security: Security is completely granular in Contensis. Permissions and privileges can be applied to group and individual level or in any combination. Additionally integration with Active directory is straightforward and logins can be inherited allowing single sign-on access to the CMS.
  • Rapid Web Development: Additional modules can be created or easily added through the straightforward integration of .Net web/server controls. The Contensis interface has built in integration for these controls not only at page template level but unlike the majority of other CMS solutions at page level; meaning that a non-technical user can insert an online poll or any other control, simply by selecting this control from a list and defining its behaviour.

Contensis supports more than 40 of these controls out of the box.
