Publication Services
Contensis provides unlimited choice in the sequencing, scheduling and triggering of publication timetables.
Content can be created ahead of time and set to publish automatically by an event or time-led trigger.
The scheduling process is key to effective site maintenance and collaborative working.
Normally, publication and scheduling services will be set up at administrator level, but responsibilities can be delegated so that individual departments can control their own publication processes.
Uniquely, Contensis provides not only the facility to set publication dates, but also to create publication 'events'. An example of such an 'event' might be a new product launch. By establishing an event 'New Product Launch' with a publication date and time attached, all content relating to this topic will be governed by the same rules.
If launch is accelerated or delayed, a single change to the time and date within the event will ensure that all relevant publication dates are revised.
There are a number of transport options available for the Contensis Publication Service, for example, FTP, Network Copy and ODBC. However, the option chosen will depend upon physical server locations, security settings and network configuration.
For example, remote servers are commonly used for live project implementations, with Contensis residing upon a separate server, but it can be just as practical to utilise the same server for both. We are happy to advise on the most appropriate solution to suit individual needs.
