Initiating Projects
Within Contensis it is possible to create any number of individual projects. These may be individual internet sites, intranets, extranets and portals or might be CD-ROMs, touch screen kiosk content, WAP sites, interactive TV, etc.
The 'create once and publish everywhere' philosophy is fundamental to Contensis. Content is separated from presentation and can be reused or adapted for reuse at will.
The administrator initiates each project by designating roles to individuals and groups and establishing their permissions. Once suitable templates have been developed these will then be assigned to the various editing groups By this mechanism total control can be exercised, right down to individual editor level, over the corporate look and feel of each project.
Limiting User Options
Contensis provides an almost limitless range of options for text styles and image manipulation, as a glance at the editor features will show. Whilst these powerful features are ideal at site designer and developer level, it can be desirable to limit accessibility at individual editor or group level to prevent individuals becoming carried away with their vision of your corporate look and feel!
The use of style sheets in combination with templates simplifies the process and helps to ensure that both corporate and accessibility standards are met.
