Contensis ECMS is totally browser based and is accessed by both internal and external individuals and groups through secure login facilities.
Security is totally granular and every Contensis user is given a unique username and password. Since Contensis frequently handles multiple websites within an organisation, this security ensures that only users with the appropriate rights and permissions for individual sites can gain access.
User authentication can be carried out manually or automated, through LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol), AD (Active Directory) and NDS (Novell Directory Services). When using one of these methods, single sign-on is straightforward.
Security can be set up to allow or block groups of IP addresses, permit or deny SSL, etc..
As the system is totally web-based, security can still be established through firewalls.
The only ports utilised are standard web ports.
