Background
The implementation of a Contract Content Management System had been identified as a key building block for Gateshead Council’s customer service programme, designed to transform the way in which customers access Council services as well as to change the provision of delivered services.
Achieving a consistent and coherent look and feel across all their new media systems including website, intranet and extranet was also of key importance, as was compliance with accessibility and other standards.
Recognising the workloads and varying skill levels of those who would be involved in day to day contribution and management, ease of use and the need for minimum training was a prerequisite.
